We're big believers in energy - how the earth, and all it's occupants, are created with the magical stuff. How it can be good, bad, warm, cold, loving and supportive, or aloof and distant. How it can easily flow from one space to another, and how we can feel those energetic shifts. How it can't be destroyed - simply transferred. And it's this energy - our individual energy, as well as the energy of everything around us, that needs to be cared for, respected, and listened to in order to reach optimal levels - of happiness, health, wealth, success, and yes, beautiful skin, too. Which is why we're so drawn to the principles outlined in Ayurveda and Traditional Chinese Medicine, and why we've chosen to abide by them when crafting up our products, and creating the AIKI SKIN brand.
We love our panchamama and want to do right by her. We also love beautiful design and think indulgent self-care practices are a necessity in a world where the daily grind and hustling 24/7 are king.
And so, AIKI SKIN flourished out of a yearning to combine multiple elements - beautifully designed, 100% natural skincare that housed powerful ingredients, worked with your skin type, was gentle on the planet and gave back wherever possible, and listened - truly listened - to what our clients had to say.
Immerse yourself in the magic contained within all AIKI SKIN products and awaken your senses by beginning and ending your day with your own rejuvenating self care practice.
Redefining traditional Eastern self-care practices.
Both Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and Ayurveda have been around for more than 3,000 years and have the shared belief that to be healthy, one must work on maintaining a balance of both body and mind. For TCM, it means bringing the forces of yin and yang into equilibrium in order to keep chi/ki/qi vitalized; for Ayurveda, it means balancing your body's constitution or prakriti in order to keep your dosha(s) or life forces vitalized.
Both of these ancient philosophies highlight nutritious, healing herbs and spices, as well as daily meditative practices to balance the body and mind, which is what AIKI SKIN draws its foundations in. They also share a connection to the fundamental elements, using them in their healing principles, which is why we've chosen to utilize the elements - Earth, Air, Fire, and Water - in our company, aligning them to various skin types and their requirements for optimization.
A focus on internal health
When it comes to our skin, each one of us is unique. Our individual DNA combine with the conditions of our existence - the food we eat, the environment we live in, the stresses and emotions we endure, etc, - to create complex issues in our skin.
That's why at AIKI SKIN, we believe in a holistic approach to your skincare - taking care of the inner you with proper nutrition, exercise, and mental approaches, as well as using products that are more customized to your skin needs.
Just think about it! YOU have very specific and individual levels of the various hormones in your body - all of which are affected by your diet, your exercise (every person requires different amounts AND different types), and the everyday stresses you endure. These hormones directly influence your skin - how much or how little oil it produces, if a rash from an allergy develops, etc. And don't be surprised if 5 years down the road (or even 1 year), your hormones change and your skin needs change as well. They say that every 7 years we regenerate completely new cells - and these cells are based on how you live your life. They're your body's way of changing to reflect or fight against your lifestyle. Some people develop allergies later in life, which is a perfect example of how the body can change. So too can your skin! You can help it become the best version it can be by providing it with the best foundation - with the nutrients found in the food you eat, calming mental and physical exercises you perform, and an all-natural skincare solution that complements its existing structure.
All nutritional information presented by AIKI SKIN are simply suggestions based on common healthy nutritional and lifestyle practices. We do not endorse that they will 100% solve your skin issues. For those with severe skin issues like acne, eczema, rosacea, or anything else of concern, we encourage seeking personalized professional support from registered Holistic Nutritionists or Naturopaths to help determine specific underlying dietary and lifestyle causes.
