Your skin may be "sensitive" if it:

  • Is prone to being irritated, swollen, red, itchy, rashy, or flaky

  • Might be occasionally inflammed

  • Has issues such as psoriasis, rosacea, eczema, or folliculitis

Recommended Skin Care Routine:

Sensitive skin most often develops as a response to external and/or internal aggravators (diet, lifestyle, allergies/sensitivities, hormones, genetics, etc). So addressing those core issues will make the biggest impact - and AIKI SKIN offers tips in this area in our Quick-Reference Guide for Sensitive Skin (learn more below), all the while following a natural, simple skin care regimen that is gentle on your skin, such as:

DAY-TIME ROUTINE

  1. Splash face with water or gently swipe skin with a natural toner.
  2. Apply AIKI SKIN FACE OIL for Sensitive Skin, which is formulated with healing herbs and powerful oils to help boost skin's strength. Pump once for ideal amount and massage into damp skin after cleansing.
  3. Apply AIKI SKIN SHEA BALM for additional protection and hydration in severely sensitive areas. Melt a small amount in palm and spot-apply on more sensitive areas of skin. Great for additional hydration during winter months.
  4. If using makeup, wait at least 5-10 minutes and apply as desired.

NIGHT-TIME ROUTINE

  1. If wearing makeup, remove with an all-natural cleanser (try the oil-cleansing method!).
  4. Finally, if needed, apply a thin layer of AIKI SKIN PIMPLE BUSTER on individual blemishes before going to bed.

Internal Solutions

  • Detox, detox, detox! Replace all chemical products that are sensitizing and allergenic with 100% natural, healing versions.
  • Drink LOTS of water (12 glasses +) each day to help flush out toxins, and rebalance and strengthen your skin.
  • Adopt an elimination diet (avoiding alcohol, caffeine, dairy, wheat, sugar, and soy) for a few weeks to determine possible dietary sensitivities that are causing inflammation in your skin.
  • Include a green smoothie in the mornings to help incorporate more vital nutrients and minerals into your diet and strengthen your skin from the inside-out.
  • Sleep by 11pm and aim for at least 7 hours of sleep each night to allow your organs to fully detoxify.
  • Limit sun exposure and invest in an all-natural sunscreen to protect your skin.
  • Stress can exacerbate eczema, hives, or rosacea, so adopt meditative practices or calming exercises daily.

For occasional breakouts, refer to the Face Map to determine possible culprits.
